My Work Story
Well, I’ve worked in IT in some form or fashion for over two decades. It started with Lotus Notes programming in 1999 which evolved into Project Management. From there, I’ve eventually picked in skills from everything in Infrastructure Architecture, Dev Ops, Website design and pretty much everything in between.
In 2013, I recognized that it was time to develop skills that would help myself or other businesses succeed, so I ventured into the wonderful world of Digital Marketing. It sounds high tech but it’s really just another way of saying “advertising online.” I learned skills and applied them to my own consulting efforts while also showing other businesses how to market themselves on LinkedIn, Facebook, Google Ads, and more.
Right around 2014, I noticed my home church at the time was struggling to get the word out into the community about the services they offered – Sunday Services, Fund-raising events, Life Groups, etc.. I knew Digital Marketing tools could help them but the budget was more than tight. With some digging and a few helping colleagues along the way, I found the Google for Non-Profits grant. The grant was tailor-made for 501c(3)’s that wanted to expand their reach but didn’t have the money to do it.
Since then, I’ve helped nearly a dozen churches and Christian schools take advantage of the grant and every other digital marketing tool possible so they can achieve their respective missions.
